Security Focused Technical Content Writer

We are looking for Technical Content Writers with app development experience along with expertise in application security.

Are you interested in application security? Are you familiar with techniques for building secure web applications, from authentication and authorization to fraud prevention and bot filtering? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you.

We’re currently looking for someone to explore topics on the intersection of application security and web development in-depth and create articles to highlight the steps taken and any interesting findings that are relevant to users.

At Wizard on Demand, we have been creating technical content articles for software companies around the world since 2018. We have a client list that includes household names in tech. Right now we have an opening for a technical content writer with a specialization in application security.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience in securing web apps, from adding authentication to preventing bot actions
  • Have examples of recent projects you have worked on (just for yourself is fine)
  • Have some experience of deploying production applications, including CI/CD pipelines and AWS/Azure
  • You are up to date with modern security practices

Please note: We’re not looking for a blog re-writer. Our articles are for clients who are looking for original writing that demonstrates trust and innovation to peers and prospects in their field. This opportunity is also only open to those who are hands-on in the security space.

If you tick the above boxes in the application security space, then we’d love to hear from you. We are used to hiring people who have a bit less experience on the writing side and we can help you with that as needed.

As part of our recruitment process you will be required to:

  • Evaluate an existing article that includes some of the concepts mentioned above
  • Create a small example of a project that secures a web app using a hosted auth solution
  • Answer some relevant interview questions on application security

If you have a computer science degree with some modules in application security that would be ideal. However, if you have done some courses elsewhere and to a similar standard, then this is also interesting to us.

Our main criteria is that you are a self starter when it comes to experimenting and being creative with example project ideas and implementation .

We need you to take this project and own it, while we give you the support from our full team of technical writers and editors so that you can produce content that helps the world and makes you proud.

Manage your schedule

This is a part time freelance flexible role. Your minimum commitment is 10 hours a week and we will need you to be available to communicate and coordinate with the team 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. We can offer you more, but we like to start at this level for the first 2-3 months while we get you familiar with the way we work.

Write to a standard that is expected by our clients

We write content marketing articles in English; our staff are both native speakers and those at CEFR C1 proficiency or above.

We do not currently accept applications from candidates residing in Asia, Australasia, or the American west coast.

Follow our technical content writing process
